A year later, in 1949, I obtained study leave to complete my Barrister’s course in London. I went back to England for six months and studied at the Inner Temple. It was the post-war period in England. London was slowly emerging from rationing after the war. I lived in Hampstead in a bedsit and studied intensively to finish in six months a course that should have lasted a year or more.
